We had a fun weekend with the kids and I had a fun birthday. When everyone came home from school they all said "happy birthday" to me in English, which was cool. The house family we ate lunch & dinner with that day prepared us special dumplings in addition to the fare usually prepared by the cook. It was a meal to remember! And the dumplings were delicious. She also used a special seasoning on some Chinese vegetables that can only be bought up north, she hides it in her room so no one else can take it.

Our time with the kids has been pleasant. It is hard knowing we will have to leave them soon. But our trip here has already been well worth it. The staff is encouraged by our presence.

Andrew has a meeting this afternoon at 3. Perhaps I will venture out into the streets alone for some solo adventure times.
